What is Ayurveda?

India, well over 3000 years ago developed a natural system of
medicine that is completely home-based and is practiced
with the things, we have in our house, in our kitchen to be specific.
The term Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words Ayur (life) and Veda (science or knowledge). Based on the idea that disease is due to an imbalance or stress in a person’s consciousness, Ayurveda encourages certain lifestyle interventions and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit, and the environment.
Ayurvedic treatment has extensive uses of Herbs and other plants, including oils and common spices. In India, Ayurveda is a form of medical care, which is equal to conventional Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathic medicine, and homeopathic medicine, and the likes.

Is it safe?

Firstly, many Ayurvedic materials have yet not been thoroughly studied. Although some of the products used in Ayurvedic medicine contain herbs, metals, minerals, or other materials that are usually safe. It might be harmful if used improperly or without the direction of a trained practitioner. These medicines can interact, or work against, the effects of Western medicines.
Firstly, always investigate the training and background of Ayurvedic practitioners whom you intend to use. As of now the biggest player in the Ayurveda Medicine industry is Baba Ramdev’s brand Patanjali, ranging their products from edibles
to everyday use things like toothbrushes. No doubt Ayurvedic
Medicine practice has become very profitable as people are now
opting for more natural products, this shift has boosted economic
gains for such corporates as Patanjali.

Ayurveda is dependable but when complemented with proper prescriptions with modern medicine. However, on its own, it is slower than modern medicine. So if you going for Ayurveda, choose a practitioner who would prescribe you proper doses and the right things.
